eThekwini Municipality scheduled a media tour for 8 October 2026 covering the Southern Aqueduct bulk-water project, Redcliffe Housing Project and Cornubia Integrated Human Settlement. The municipal invitation was published on 6 October and listed a 09:00 departure from Durban City Hall.

The city described the Southern Aqueduct stop as focused on water security and bulk-infrastructure upgrades, Redcliffe as a housing-backlog and community-development project, and Cornubia as an integrated-development and urban-planning project.

The notice contains no new expenditure amount, procurement reference, contractor appointment, completion percentage or council decision for the three projects. Civic Ledger therefore records the tour and the projects named, but does not treat the invitation as evidence of additional construction progress or a new award.

Any project-status claims arising from the tour should be checked against the records supplied during or after the visit. The next useful documents would be updated project schedules, approved budgets, contract registers and dated construction milestones.

What it means

The tour places three major infrastructure and housing projects together in the municipality’s current public-accountability programme. Its evidentiary value is limited to the announced itinerary until updated project records are released.
